us and us (may 2008): an extension of yesterday

us & us (may 2008) for motion radio
“an extension of yesterday”
transmitting from mount vernon, new york, usa

this show was inspired by the poetry of wanda robinson. towards the end, i play her poem “john harvey’s blues.” hopefully you won’t mind that it’s a seriously scratchy record, but in this digital day and age, i rather appreciate the pops and crackles of some vinyl. the needle skips during a line in the poem; it’s supposed to read like this…

“his life is beyond reason - the very nature of his being
is so insane that i almost give up, searching for ways
and means to comfort him, to keep him around until
tomorrow…”

1. tim koch - we wait
2. airborn audio - wanda robinson blend
3. rubberoom - acid
4. core rhythm - the road (featuring baba israel and farbeon)
5. kissey asplund - the big mess!!!! / hit me with medication
6. lunchbox - vegimite toast
7. birdy nam nam - rainstorming
8. prefuse 73 - smoking red (feat. john stanier)
9. lecture on nothing - i will rise (traditional)
10. jazzanova - cyclic
11. eldar - prairie village (nicolay remix)
12. rook valard - crowslish
13. cex - ice / theme song to cex
14. serengeti & polyphonic - don’t give up
15. katalyst - he is society
16. kid606 vs. max tundra - five minutes, five seconds
17. wanda robinson - john harvey’s blues
18. nina simone - the desperate ones
